The Role 

As a Private Client Tax Manager, you will play a key role in managing and advising a varied portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and private clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of private clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Providing expert tax compliance and advisory support to individuals and families
  • Reviewing personal tax returns and complex tax computations
  • Advising on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and broader personal tax planning
  • Supporting clients with wealth structuring and long-term tax efficiency strategies
  • Liaising with HMRC on client matters where required
  • Identifying planning opportunities and delivering proactive tax advice 


About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience in private client tax within practice or a professional services environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax legislation
  • Experience managing client relationships independently
  • Excellent communication and advisory skills
  • Ability to review and prepare complex tax returns
  • ATT/CTA qualified or equivalent (or qualified by experience)

Sheridan Maine is partnering with a reputable and growing business in Wolverhampton to recruit a Tax Manager on a 9-month maternity cover basis. This is a lovely opportunity to lead compliance and advisory responsibilities across all areas of tax within a collaborative finance team.
 
Key Responsibilities of this Tax Manager role:

  • Oversee tax compliance and advisory matters across the business.
  • Provide guidance on tax implications for business decisions and transactions.
  • Identify and manage tax risks, ensuring robust controls are in place.
  • Build relationships with internal teams, advisors, and external stakeholders.
  • Support and develop junior team members, providing updates to senior management.

 
The Ideal Candidate:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with strong tax experience.

Sheridan Maine is recruiting on behalf of a leading media business for a Client Audit Executive. This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) with proven audit experience to progress their career within the media industry.

The Role:
As an Internal Auditor, you will support the Head of Media Compliance to ensure the accurate end-to-end reconciliation of agency and media owner campaigns and billings, supporting smooth external client audits. You will liaise across multiple teams, using your audit expertise to maintain data accuracy and support process and system improvements.

Key responsibilities of the Internal Auditor include:

  • Conducting reconciliations and supporting operational audits across campaigns and client accounts.
  • Documenting key processes that impact client and media owner billings.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Ensuring end-to-end processes are audit-ready.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to maintain compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. 

To be considered for the Internal Auditor role:

  • Recently qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in internal or external audit, including operational audit exposure.
  • Experience reconciling high volumes of transactional data.
  • Demonstrable experience driving process improvement.
  • Experience in financial systems; NetSuite preferred but not essential.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and analytical skills.

Key responsibilities of the Tax Advisor include:

  • Providing comprehensive tax advice to corporate and personal clients.
  • Preparing and reviewing tax computations, returns, and filings.
  • Advising on tax planning, structuring, and compliance strategies.
  • Keeping clients and internal teams updated on changes in tax legislation and regulations.

  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communication and strong client relationship skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements.
