Job Details

A superb opportunity for an ambitious Financial Accountant to join a thriving commercial business with a strong sense of purpose and a capable, friendly team, into a position which has acted as a career springboard for predecessors, as this business has a clear track record in hiring and developing talented people and rewarding excellent performance with internal promotion through the ranks.

The business
Private Equity backed, growing profitably in an industry unaffected by recession, this is a business which can offer stability, support, progression and fulfilment.

The role
Coming as a direct result of internal promotion this is an ideal springboard position for somebody nearly or recently qualified who wants to gain core financial accounting in an interesting and busy group environment.

  • Production of financial statements and corporation tax computations for all legal entities
  • Production of Group consolidation financial statements
  • Production of quarterly condensed consolidated financial statements
  • Key point of contact for auditors
You'll also assist with Management Accounts including the preparation of the Group VAT returns, work with the fixed asset register and IFRS16 leases, prepare intercompany transactions for subsidiary and group financial reporting and other ad hoc duties around treasury, financial control and taxation.

The person
This would make an ideal first move post-qualification, so the successful candidate is likely to be newly qualified (ACA,ACCA) or finalist, coming from either practice or industry.
You'll need experience of preparing financial statements, dealing or working with auditors, sound technical accounting knowledge and a keen eye for detail.
Of course you'll be fully supported in this role which also involves some collaborative working. Hybrid working also requires a good degree of autonomy, initiative and communication. As you'd expect from a role of this type you'll also need to manage your workload around fixed reporting deadlines and organise, prioritise and work efficiently.

In return you'll gain key professional exposure in a fantastic environment, working among a high-calibre team where progression is encouraged.
Hybrid working arrangements (average 80-90% WFH, likely a bit more time in the office for the first few weeks).
Salary to £45k, 26 days annual leave, 5% matched pension.
