The Company
We are pleased to be supporting a thriving SME business located in Coventry. This company has developed online eCommerce driven business model that runs alongside more traditional sales and distribution methods. This organisation is viewed  as a business of choice to work for and has an outstanding reputation in its niche. They are now looking to hire a Financial Controller to lead a small team. In many respects this role is the perfect training ground for someone who wants to be a Finance Director in the future.
 
Duties
Reporting to the Finance Director the role will be responsible for end to end effective month end close, the production of management reporting and ensuring new financial processes are effectively implemented  into the company. Responsibilities include:

• Oversee the production of month end close
• Produce Management Accounts Pack including useful commentary and insight
• Close scrutiny on reconciliations and stock movements due to the high volume of transactions
• Ensure correct accounting procedures are applied by the finance team
• Manage and mentor a small finance team
• Support the Finance Director with daily/weekly Foreign Exchange as required

• Undertaking special projects to introduce new innovative processes that lead to greater efficiency across the business, at the same time work closely with and business partner key stakeholders

• ACMA/ACCA/ACA qualified
• Solid management and technical accounting skills
• Strong Excel user
• Track record of managing teams
• Exposure to retail, FMCG or a eCommerce driven environment would be an useful. More important is the ability to do the core Financial Controller role. Sector experience is secondary
• Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Navision
