Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly regarded financial services firm in Central London to recruit an experienced R&D Tax Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing specialist tax team, working with an impressive portfolio of innovative businesses across a range of industries. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality R&D tax relief claims, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the continued success of the firm's advisory offering.

As R&D Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a varied client portfolio, managing claims from initial consultation through to submission while providing expert technical advice throughout the process.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a portfolio of R&D tax relief clients across a broad range of sectors
• Preparing and reviewing R&D tax relief claims, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance
• Liaising directly with clients to understand qualifying R&D activities and associated expenditure
• Preparing robust technical reports and financial calculations to support claims
• Advising clients on R&D tax legislation and identifying opportunities to maximise available reliefs
• Managing enquiries from HMRC and supporting clients throughout the process
• Working collaboratively with Partners and the wider tax team on complex client matters
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional service
• Supporting, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members
• Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and HMRC guidance
  
  

The successful R&D Tax Manager will have:

• Previous experience managing R&D tax relief claims within an accountancy practice or specialist tax consultancy
• A strong understanding of UK R&D tax legislation and HMRC guidance
• Excellent analytical and technical skills
• Strong client relationship management experience
• The ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues
• ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA or equivalent qualification (or qualified by experience)
