Financial Accountant – Statutory Accounts & Audit

Searching for accounting jobs Weymouth? Sheridan Maine is looking for a qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA Accountant with experience in statutory accounts to join our Weymouth based client.  This is a great opportunity to take ownership of year-end reporting and audits while also supporting the wider Management Accounting function.
 
In this Financial Accountant role, you will be:

• Leading the preparation of draft annual statutory accounts and supporting schedules
• Acting as the main point of contact for the external audit
• Posting month-end journals and helping with reconciliations where needed
• Supporting the Management Accounting team with ad-hoc projects
• Maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
• Identifying ways to improve processes and drive efficiency within the team

 
To be considered for this Financial Accountant position you will be/have:

• Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with 2–3 years’ experience in statutory accounting and audit
• Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to hit deadlines
• Confident in Excel and MS Office, with excellent attention to detail
• Professional, collaborative, and customer-focused with excellent communication skills
