An exciting opportunity is available for a Management Accountant to join our client's team in London on a permanent basis, starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing management accounts and various reports, as well as overseeing general accounting procedures and practices. The purpose of this role is to support senior management in decision-making and contribute to the long-term financial success of the business.

Responsibilities of the Management Accountant will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Prepare and file monthly VAT returns, ensuring accuracy
  • Develop a new reporting tool to automate processes
  • Identify and resolve mis-posting issues, ensuring compliance
  • Prepare tax reconciliations with local accountants
  • Create SOPs to document current processes
  • Handle weekly bank reconciliations and queries promptly
  • Approve bank payments and ensure accuracy of new payees
  • Understand European tax laws and relevant reporting tools
  • Prepare journals and reconcile balance sheets before month-end
  • Prepare P&L reports and variance analysis
  • Perform month-end tax calculations and fixed asset management
  • Assist in preparing month-end Group financial presentations
  • Prepare annual AOP, year-end schedules, and audit reports
  • Support year-end close and reconciliation
  • Develop Power BI reports for finance (cash flow, customer tracking, GP dashboards, etc.)
  • Ensure smooth transition from Expensify to SAP Concur
 
The successful Management Accountant will require the following skills and experience:
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Must have international/European accounting experience
  • Workday experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of European tax laws and relevant reporting tools is essential
  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS, UK GAAP, and the Companies Act
  • Proactive, organised, and detail-focused with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines
