Sheridan Maine is partnering with an esteemed media organisation, recognised for its innovative approach and commitment to excellence in the media industry. Our client is seeking a talented Financial Controller to join their dynamic team and contribute to their ongoing success.
 
As a Financial Controller, you will have the opportunity to work within a Group Finance function, collaborating closely with the Head of Financial Reporting and Operations. This role offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated and driven individual to play a key role in shaping financial strategies and driving business growth.
 
Your responsibilities as the Financial Controller will include:

  • Prepare annual statutory accounts under FRS102 and lead contact during audits.
  • Prepare annual returns and meet statutory requirements for all companies.
  • Assist in various aspects of the Pension Scheme, including cash flow analysis and deficit reporting.
  • Compile monthly management pack and quarterly forecasts for presentation to the Board.
  • Report monthly to shareholders.
  • Reconcile and forecast group cost centres.
  • Manage annual corporation tax.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax deadlines and requirements, including US tax compliance.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for efficiency and process improvements within Group Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external controls and regulations.
  • Handle ad hoc finance and business projects.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and support to the Head of Financial Reporting and Operations, and the CFOO.
  • Manage, coach and develop small team.
 
To be considered for the role of Financial Controller, you will:
  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA) with PQE.
  • Possess strong technical knowledge with previous statutory reporting and tax experience.
  • Have a strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Possess strong managerial skills.
  • Be able to deal effectively with both financial and operational management and staff at various levels.
