Sheridan Maine is pleased to represent a professional services organisation located on the outskirts of northeast London. Our client is a vibrant and growing firm known for its commitment to excellence and innovation. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a talented Group Management Accountant to join their team.
 
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Group Management Accountant will play a pivotal role in building and managing the Finance function. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to take ownership of the production of Management Accounts, Month-End processes, and Financial Reporting.
 
Responsibilities of the Group Management Accountant will include:

  • Preparation of accurate and timely Management Accounts for the organisation.
  • Prepare and review month-end board packs, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Review the key P&L and balance sheet items to be included in the group’s annual/interim reports.
  • Develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures.
  • Manage and review day-to-day accounting in house and establish month end and management accounting processes.
  • Forecast cash flow projections and generate daily analyses of cash flow for review by the Group of Directors.
  • Prepare and review monthly PAYE submissions and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review quarterly VAT Returns due for the different Group entities.
  • Calculation and preparation of Monthly Staff Salaries of smaller companies.
  • Build, mentor and develop an excellent team.
  • Support the rest of the finance team where needed.
 
The successful Group Management Accountant will:
  • Be a qualified / part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
  • Have proven experience in a similar role within a professional services organisation is preferred.
  • Be able to quickly build relationships with external and internal contacts at all levels with confidence
  • Possess experience with ERP systems (preferably Sage 50 and Merit Software but not essential)
