Sheridan Maine has partnered with an organisation in Edgbaston to recruit a Data Manager for their team. As our client progresses toward a more data-centric approach, necessitating changes to current systems and processes, they seek a data champion. This position calls for a personable individual ready to engage with team members, providing support, encouragement, and assistance as required.

Your responsibilities as the Data Manager will include:

  • Manage organisation's data processes and systems
  • Develop and enforce data strategies and policies for accuracy, integrity, and security
  • Ensure compliance with standards and laws for secure data handling
  • Provide internal support for information systems and simplify complex topics
  • Improve BI processes and foster a data-driven culture
  • Address data and reporting issues promptly
  • Develop efficient reports for decision-making
  • Identify critical data for cleansing and import into new systems
  • Assist in data acquisition and database maintenance
  • Support projects and oversee project delivery
  • Maintain a responsible approach to health, safety, and environmental risks
  • Ensure data protection compliance
 
The successful Data Manager will require the following skills and experience:
  • BSc in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent
  • Experience in roles like Data Manager or Business Data Analyst, implementing efficient data management procedures
  • Proficiency in managing data, including knowledge of data security laws and protocols
  • Strong understanding of data management and administrative policies
  • Experience with data management in Microsoft Dynamics and cloud environments
  • Analytical skills for collecting, organising, and analysing large datasets, using statistical methods
  • Knowledge of data cleaning and preparation for migration and analysis
  • Collaborative work style, understanding and meeting the needs of other departments
  • Problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to business issues
  • Awareness of ethical considerations in data usage, storage, and analysis
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning in data analytics
