Sheridan Maine are supporting our client who are a highly successful, privately owned and long standing Group, who are seeking a Group Accountant/Finance Manager to join their business based full-time from their offices, in North Dorset. 

This is a chance for the Group Finance Manager to establish themselves, by leading the finance team and building strong collaborative relationships with the Senior Leadership Team and assist in the continued organic growth and progress of the business.
 
Key Duties & Responsibilities within this role:

  • Preparation and reporting of Group Management Accounts 
  • Assisting in the preparation of draft annual accounts for annual Audit
  • Management of the day to day workloads of the transactional team;
    • Managing transactional processes adhering to monthly timetables
    • Review of aged debtors/creditors reports
    • Working with Accounts Payable/Receivables to resolve queries, escalating if required
    • Oversee the European VAT reporting & Intrastat returns 
  • Preparation of monthly reporting within set timescales
  • Manage payroll process ensuring robust financial controls are in place
  • Responsible for accurate preparation & submission of quarterly UK VAT returns
  • Ensure Group’s compliance with VAT / PAYE & P11D reporting
  • Monthly reconciliations of the Balance Sheet
  • Reporting & detailed analysis of revenue and gross margin
  • Overhead variance Analysis and Intercompany Accounting
  • Maintenance of financial policies and procedures, suggest improvements, implement and monitor ongoing financial control
  • Supporting the Head of Finance and wider SLT
Successful Candidate:
  • Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA Accountant or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a pressured and a fast moving environment
  • Previous experience of dealing with Imports/Exports, EU VAT invoicing, multicurrency transactions, Translations and FX changes 
  • Problem solver with a proactive approach, able to identify issues within area of responsibility, recommend solutions and implementing changes
  • Ability to communicate well and forge strong relationships with the Leadership team as well as all levels of business
  • Manufacturing experience & Group accounting is desirable
  • Advanced Excel skills
