We have an exciting opportunity available in Glasgow for a Portfolio Accountant to join our client's team on a permanent basis, starting as soon as possible. This presents an excellent chance for a recently qualified accountant (or finalist candidate) to join a renowned industry leader.
 
The successful candidate will assume complete responsibility for the financial responsibilities pertaining to a portion of the portfolio of 100+ companies. Emphasis will be placed on enhancing the commercial efficiency of the assets within the team, necessitating a robust commercial outlook and eagerness to innovate and implement new strategies and procedures.

Responsibilities of the Portfolio Accountant will include, but will not be limited to:
Portfolio Financials:

  • Handle financial and lender reporting
  • Liaise with auditors
  • Manage key balance sheet items and month-end processes
  • Consolidate year-end reporting
  • Coordinate with tax advisers
  • Generate annual budgets for SPVs
 
Business Partnering:
  • Provide monthly and ad-hoc reports
  • Analyse portfolio companies and communicate performance KPIs
  • Understand asset performance and its impact on valuations
  • Coordinate with technical teams for commentary on portfolio performance
 
Modelling:
  • Understand financial models including valuation models and debt reporting models
  • Update financial models
  • Extract data from inherited financial models
 
The successful Portfolio Accountant will require the following skills and experience:
  • Newly qualified accountant or finalist (ACA/ACCA)
  • Eager and self-motivated team player capable of independently planning and executing tasks
  • Solution-oriented individual with a proactive mindset
  • Adaptable and adept at meeting tight deadlines
  • Resilient, enthusiastic, and diligent with excellent communication abilities
  • Demonstrates high personal credibility, transparency, professionalism, and ethical conduct
  • Quick learner with the ability to efficiently utilise new software to enhance reporting, processes, and team productivity
  • Proficient in Excel with a preference for Power BI experience
  • Previous exposure to lender and debt reporting is advantageous
