Sheridan Maine is collaborating with our client who is based in Weymouth to recruit for a committed Assistant Accountant.  Joining a welcoming and supportive team environment within the finance department, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing clear and concise reporting and analysis of the company’s financial performance. 
 
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with the flexibility of 2 days working from home and 3 days in the office.  Additionally, study support is available for your professional development.
 
As the Assistant Accountant, your main responsibilities will include:   

• Providing accurate month end reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting in the creation of budgets and forecasts
• Preparing balance sheet reviews, accompanied by commentary on key areas
• Conducting month-end cost reporting and variance analysis, offering detailed insights into monthly cost variances
• Calculating and posting of accurate data for the business area
• Collaborating with the management team
• Reviewing costs to identify risks and opportunities
• Identifying and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency

• Part CIMA or ACCA qualified
• Capable of delivering clear and concise reporting and analysis of financial performance
• Demonstrated experience in the accounting and finance field
• Intermediate Excel skills for effective data management
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
