Are you an experienced and skilled accountant with a strong commitment to financial compliance and governance? Our client, a prestigious organisation based in London, is in search of a Group Accountant who will become an integral part of their thriving team.
 
As a Group Accountant, you will play a key role in assessing and implementing new accounting standards to meet the ever-evolving requirements of UK Corporate Governance.   This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key player in maintaining the highest standards of governance within a dynamic and growing company.
 
Your responsibilities as the Group Accountant will include:

  • Ensure vigorous procedures are followed to assess the impact of changes to UK Accounting Standards (predominantly FRS 102) on the Group. Monitor the evolving landscape in this area.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
  • Take the helm as the project leader to spearhead the development and execution of a program aimed at implementing necessary changes identified. This includes addressing enhancements needed for the Group's processes or internal controls, with collaboration and coordination with other Group functions as necessary.
  • Provide expert advice on compliance matters and assist in staff training.
  • Engage actively in the advancement and strengthening of the governance and internal controls framework for financial processes throughout the entire Group.
  • Evaluate, uphold, and refine Group Directives/policies, as well as enhance Finance and Accounting manuals.
  • Contribute to the review of reconciling subsidiary statutory accounts with the consolidation packs submitted for the purpose of group consolidation.
 
To be considered for the position of Group Accountant, you will require:
  • Professional qualification in accounting or a related field (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Hands on IFRS 15 implementation experience.
  • Strong understanding of UK Corporate Governance regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience of implementing Internal Financial Controls in a large company or in a consultancy is a plus.
