Sheridan Maine is collaborating with a well-established manufacturing business located on the outskirts of Christchurch to recruit for a Finance Assistant, who will play a pivotal role in handling day to day accounting transactions.
 
This role offers the opportunity for study support.
 
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for the following key tasks: 

  • Processing a significant volume of purchase ledger invoices
  • Supplier statement reconciliations and addressing supplier queries
  • Matching invoices with purchase orders
  • Processing weekly supplier payment runs
  • Petty cash reconciliation and journal posting
  • Sending customer invoices, updating statements and processing receipts
  • Managing daily bank postings, conducting monthly bank reconciliations, including multi-currency
  • Fixed Asset additions/disposals/depreciation
  • Assisting with month end tasks
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
 
To be considered for the role of Finance Assistant, candidates should possess the following attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail and good time management skills
  • Previous experience in a similar accounting position
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous
