Sheridan Maine is delighted to partner with an innovative startup in the financial services sector.  Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance professional to join their Borehamwood based team in the role of Financial Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company that is making waves in the industry.
 
Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller include:

• Ownership of the month end process ensuring output is delivered in line with internal and external deadlines.
• Lead the balance sheet reconciliation process.
• Liaise with outsourced accountants on year end, audit and ad hoc queries.
• Support with year-end audit.
• Process returns including VAT, WHT and Corp Tax.
• Manage and train Assistant Accountant.
• Challenge and build on current financial control processes.
• Provide essential support in operational finance activities.
• Support on projects and process improvement

• Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
• Proven financial control experience, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Demonstrable experience in process improvement.
• Previous experience in a startup environment is advantageous.
