Key responsibilities of the VAT Specialist include:

  • Adhere to well-established procedures and make use of tools and technological advancements to efficiently carry out tasks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments of VAT liabilities.
  • Prepare and review periodic VAT returns within deadlines.
  • Assist in responding to VAT audits and inquiries.
  • Ensure alignment between VAT and statistical returns, reconciling them with precision to the balance sheet.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline VAT processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Stay updated on changes in VAT laws and regulations, ensuring the organisation remains compliant.
 
The successful VAT Specialist:
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, or relevant VAT qualifications.
  • Proven experience in VAT accounting and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
