The Role
Working within a small Financial Accounts team, you'll provide a professional accountancy service, playing a lead role in both tactical and strategic aspects. Additionally, you will offer advice and guidance to business leaders on matters related to business finances and tax affairs. As this is a new role in an expanding business, there is ample opportunity to add value and make improvements to processes, schedules, and output.

Your duties as the Financial Accountant will include:

  • Update and reconcile all balance sheet accounts for all entities.
  • Manage the accruals and prepayments.
  • Assist with the annual Statutory Audit; liaise with external accountants.
  • Complete and submit VAT Returns.
  • Ensure timely payment of all tax and VAT liabilities.
  • Ensure that all partner accounts are accurate, up to date and reconciled.
  • Provide support in tax affairs for both the practice and individual partners.
  • Ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations together with internal policies and procedures.
  • Assist with budget preparation, forecasting and financial performance.
  • Provide support for future business transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions.

With a complex structure, multiple entities of different types and a high volume of transactions this will require a keen eye for detail and sound technical knowledge. 

The successful Financial Accountant:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Qualified By Experience - open to candidates trained in either practice or industry.
  • Exposure to personal and corporate tax work is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in both preparing for and managing audits.
  • Commercial, client centric perspective with a proven track record and high standard of technical delivery.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and impeccable attention to detail.
