Our client, a dynamic and rapidly expanding service sector SME, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their dedicated team. Based in Oxfordshire, this company is at the forefront of innovation in their industry and is committed to delivering exceptional results.
 
As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the company. You will work closely with the Director to provide valuable insights and support in strategic decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to lead and make a real impact within a dynamic and ambitious organisation.
 
Your duties as the Financial Controller will include but will not limited to:

  • Take ownership of financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring the company's financial health is maintained and improved.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement improved business information so profit can be identified down to the individual project level.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
  • Review the current accounting package and assess whether fit for purpose long term.
  • Collaborate with the Director to provide financial insights and recommendations, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Act as a true business partner across all business functions, being a point of contact between finance, the Director and the wider company.
  • Ad-hoc project support for business growth.
 
To be considered for the role of Financial Controller, you will require:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in financial leadership roles, with a strong understanding of the service sector.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a track record of providing valuable financial insights to senior management.
  • Expert in finance systems, processes and apps such as Xero.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead teams.
