Are you a proficient accountant with a strong commitment to financial compliance and governance? Our client, a prestigious organisation based in London, is in search of a Group Compliance & Governance Accountant to become an integral part of their dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key role in assessing and implementing changes to meet the ever-evolving requirements of UK Corporate Governance. This presents a distinctive opportunity to actively contribute to the expansion and enhancement of the Financial Compliance and Governance function within the Group.
 
Responsibilities as the Group Compliance & Governance Accountant include but are not limited to:
 

  • Ensuring robust procedures are followed in evaluating the impact of changes to UK Accounting Standards (primarily FRS 102) on the Group and monitoring the changing landscape in this area.
  • Summarising and communicating the requirements of future changes to UK Accounting Standards to the key stakeholders both within the team and the wider business.
  • Acting as the project lead for developing and delivering a programme to implement changes to meet the requirements identified as a result of the above, in particular any enhancements required to the Group’s processes or internal controls, liaising with other Group functions where required.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to other members of the team and assisting in developing training material where required
  • Assisting in developing and improving the governance and internal controls environment around financial processes across the Group
  • Reviewing, maintaining, and developing Group Directives/policies and Finance and Accounting manuals
  • Assisting in coordinating the completion and review of the group’s internal controls matrices
  • Assisting in reviewing reconciliation of subsidiary statutory accounts to the consolidation packs submitted for group consolidation purposes.
 
To be considered for the position of Group Compliance & Governance Accountant you will require:
 
  • Professional qualification in accounting (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
  • Hands on IFRS 15 implementation experience.
  • Have worked at PLC or listed project based businesses. 
  • Strong knowledge of UK Corporate Governance regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with internal controls and risk management.
