Sheridan Maine is working in partnership with a reputable manufacturing company based near Loughborough. With a strong track record and commitment to excellence, our client is a market leader in its industry. They are now seeking a highly motivated and experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team and contribute to the continued success of the business.
 
As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising the company's financial performance by ensuring that outstanding debts are collected in a timely and professional manner.  You will be responsible for ensuring timely collections of outstanding debts, minimising credit risk, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
 
Your responsibilities as the Credit Controller will include:


  • Proactively manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices
  • Conduct thorough credit checks and assessments on new and existing customers to evaluate creditworthiness
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, or in writing to resolve payment issues and disputes professionally and amicably
  • Liaise with sales and customer service teams to address billing or account discrepancies promptly
  • Monitor and report on aged debt, providing regular updates to the finance team and management
  • Daily allocation and posting of customer payment from the bank statement
  • Raising and posting on a weekly and monthly basis, the DD collection journal, notifications and processing through the bank
  • Produce and check monthly statements
  • Set up new customer accounts and ensure full communication of information to relevant parties
  • Provide credit references to external parties as and when required
 
To be considered for the position of Credit Controller, you will require:


  • A minimum of 2 years proven experience as a Credit Controller
  • Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office suite
  • Ability to handle a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment
