About The Business
Our client is a long standing, mid-tier professional services business based in central Bath. With offices around the UK, the organisation is experiencing consistent growth (current t/o around £55m) and within the finance team, this growth has opened an opportunity for a 2ic to join the Finance Director.
The current working model is 3 days on site and 2 WFH. Parking is available.
About the Role
This newly created Financial Controller role is strongly weighted towards FP&A and Business Partnering, moving away from (but still involved in) your typical 'controls and stat accounts' vacancy. It reports to the Finance Director (CFO) of the organisation.
The position has a strong remit to increase performance across the Group, assisting the Heads / Directors of individual business units with their efficiency programmes and performance indicators (development of pricing tools, KPI reporting metrics etc) following a Group-wide strategic review.
The position is currently a standalone role, placing an emphasis on such developments. In time, there is the view to absorb more direct reports away from the Finance Director, but this will be an ongoing and organic conversation.
The role also places you at the centre of new systems and process implementations, as the business looks to go live with a new CRM in the coming months with subsequent modules and reports needing to be developed off the back of its launch.
About You
Needing to be fully qualified, we're looking for someone with a strong technical accounting background (chartered or similar) but who has moved further into the FP&A and Business Partnering world.
Industry experience within professional services is also strongly desired, but not essential.
You will be instrumental is developing ongoing, open relationships with the senior stakeholder group of the business, alleviating the Finance Director of their ever-growing depth of responsibilities. The ability to influence upwards and action recommendations will be crucial to your success.
Part time candidates will also be considered, ideally no less than 4 days per week.
