Our client, a reputable organisation based in Eastleigh, is currently seeking an Accounts Assistant (Sales Ledger) to join their team. This is a great opportunity to be part of an organisation that prides itself on having a remarkable corporate culture.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant (Sales Ledger) will include, but will not be limited to:
 

  • Credit Control – Proactively chase monthly credit accounts, conduct credit checks and maintain related documentation, prepare and submit credit reports and allocate and manage credit-related tasks (20% of role)
  • Provide assistance and support when required to operate the franking machine
  • Generate and raise sales invoices for external recharges in the Sales Ledger
  • Manage incoming calls, address inquiries, and provide appropriate resolutions
  • Manage tasks and activities during annual audit procedures
  • Maintain organized filing systems to ensure efficient record-keeping
  • Investigate payments received and made, including obtaining missing remittance advices
  • Review, allocate, and follow up on all outstanding debts and provide weekly reports
  • Manage Aftersales Cash Debt and provide weekly reports
  • Raising Bank Transfers and Card refunds daily, ensuring the paperwork is complete and passing to Line manager for authorisation
  • Send daily emails regarding the current bank balance
  • Maintain and update the staff register as required
  • Monitor and handle tasks related to the "Accounts inbox" efficiently
 
Shared responsibilities:
 
  • Send timely emails to staff confirming customer payments upon receipt in the bank
  • Perform daily banking activities, including reconciling and posting transactions
  • Reconcile and post daily bank statements to ensure alignment with account 9430 daily
  • Conduct daily reconciliation of wholesale payments to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain and update records of finance commissions paid on a daily basis
  • Generate and print month-end sales ledger reports, ensuring proper reconciliation of accounts
  • Stationery ordering & stock checking, including PDQ machines
 
The successful Accounts Assistant (Sales Ledger) will require the following skills and experience:
 
  • 3+ years’ experience in a busy accounts/finance department
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Prioritisation and time management skills
  • Advanced skills in Excel are desirable
