Sheridan Maine are working in partnership with one of our clients to secure a Finance Manager for a newly created Trust Finance Manager opportunity in their growing business.
 
As Trust Finance Manager you will provide financial management and oversight of a registered charity subsidiary within a Group of companies. Working closely with the senior management team, as a member of the wider Group financial reporting team, you will be responsible for providing financial information on behalf of the Trust to the Group.  You will take primary responsibility for managing the finance function and controls, setting operational budgets and production of regular management reporting, to enable the full integration of the Trust finance function and systems into the Group infrastructure.

Key requirements within the role:

  •  Partnering with the Leadership team and working alongside them to help deliver an operational strategy and taking a leadership role for the charity
  • Production and review of monthly management accounts and assisting with annual statutory accounts and Charity Commission return
  • Responsibility for accurate preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Supporting the Trust operational directors and managers with financial information/narratives, budgets and pricing for grant applications, tenders and submissions, and other fundraised income
  • Preparation and presentation of financial reports and liaison with budget holders and other stakeholders external to finance to discuss and review
  • Play a key part in grant/contract handover, implementation and monitoring process, ensuring adherence with finance related grant/contract T&Cs
  • Ensure all reporting deadlines are met
  • Manage workload, delivery and development of management and assistant management accountants
  • Responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations and Variance analysis
  • Journal processing, including ensuring the correct accounting of accruals and prepayments
  • Review of assistant management accounts work to ensure accuracy
  • Interrogation of financial systems to identify errors and make corrections
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis
and Experience required:
  • Ideally you will be fully ACCA/ACA or CIMA Qualified with relevant post qualification experience is essential
  • Experience as part of a broad finance function with hands on experience of management reporting, budget holder partnering and financial controls
  • Demonstrated the ability to work with senior management and operational directors outside of finance
  • Experience in a registered charity is highly desirable.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present information clearly and concisely, enabling management decision making
  • Strong all-round IT skills with expert level excel skills is essential. Experience and knowledge of specialist financial systems is desirable
