We are pleased to announce that Sheridan Maine is collaborating with a distinguished independent brokerage firm in London to secure a talented Senior Technical Accounting Manager for their dynamic team.
 
In this role, you will be reporting into the Technical Accounting Director. You will be playing a crucial part in handling challenging and important accounting matters that have a significant impact on the entire business, in addition to notable matters pertaining to specific divisions.
 
Your responsibilities as the Senior Technical Accounting Manager will include:

  • Frequently engaging with the business, making timely decisions and diligently documenting them in accounting memorandums or briefing notes
  • While updating accounting policy manuals is a key responsibility, the primary emphasis of this role is on resolving practical business challenges rather than focusing solely on theoretical aspects
  • Responsibility for: revenue recognition, hedge accounting/financial instruments, share-based payments, lease accounting, acquisitions/disposals accounting, goodwill impairment, transitioning subsidiaries from FRS 102 to FRS 101, financial statements review and group accounting policy manual
 
The successful Senior Technical Accounting Manager will require the following skills and experience:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA), with considerable post-qualification experience, including Big 4 and industry experience
  • Experience within technical accounting/accounting policy, specifically IFRS, FRS 102, FRS 101
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory, tax, legal and accounting matters
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
 
This position offers remote working, with the exception of coming into the office once a fortnight.
