Our client is a well-established organisation based in Chippenham and has an opportunity for a talented and motivated Financial Accountant to join its team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
 
As the Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in a fast-paced, customer-focused team. You will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting critical business decisions. This role will also play a lead role in the external audit process. 
 
Your responsibilities as the Financial Accountant will include:

  • Manage a small team and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies
  • Managing the Fixed asset Register ensuring it is reconciled, complete and accurate
  • Managing Period end, general ledger and reconciliation cycles
  • Responsibility for the Central Balance Sheet - ensuring that reconciliations are completed on a timely basis and reviewed
  • Manage specific accounting and budgetary requirements. (Including IFRS16)
  • Assist external auditors when required and ensure the audit is completed within deadlines
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns for the group in line with deadlines
  • Support the development and implementation of financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Stay up to date with accounting regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices
 
What you will need to be considered for the position of Financial Accountant:
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing standards
  • Management experience of ambition to manage a team
