Sheridan Maine is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-known company based in Walsall. This esteemed organisation is recognised for its commitment to excellence and continuous growth within its industry. As the Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the company's financial operations are effectively managed during a 9-month fixed-term contract.
 
Your responsibilities as the Financial Controller will include but won’t be limited to:

  • Managing a small team, providing guidance, support, and fostering a positive work environment
  • Managing the day-to-day financial operations and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Producing timely and accurate financial reports, statements, and forecasts
  • Lead the annual external audit and half year review processes
  • Overseeing the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborating with internal departments to ensure current business processes and new projects are correctly supported and accounted
  • Leading the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines
  • Completion of corporation tax packs
  • Taking a proactive role in the continuous implementation of Oracle Fusion accounting, analysing internal processes, reporting, and controls to enhance the system's efficiency
  • Ensuring the seamless integration of the new reporting capabilities provided by Oracle Fusion, conducting periodic reviews to ensure its ongoing suitability and effectiveness
 
What you will need:
  • Solid understanding of Oracle Fusion is essential
  • Professional qualification (ACCA or CIMA)
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and reporting standards
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments
 
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. As the Financial Controller, you will have the flexibility to work remotely for most of the week, with the convenience of coming into the office in Walsall for 2-3 days.
