Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering a well-established Business services organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with a wonderful culture and supportive work environment.
 
As the Assistant Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the production of management accounts by delivering allocated tasks on schedule.  Working mostly remotely, you will have the flexibility to manage your workload and collaborate with team members virtually. However, occasional visits to the Birmingham based office will be required, typically around 4 or 5 times a year.
 
Your duties as the Assistant Accountant will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of journals
  • Balance sheet items reconciliations
  • Provide support to FP&A teams to produce forecasts and reporting
  • Support the internal and external auditors, and tax departments as required
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement to maximise opportunities to improve efficiency and controls. Share and seek out best practices
  • Various other ad-hoc accounting duties as required
 
You will require the following attributes to be a successful Assistant Accountant:
  • ACCA or CIMA part qualified and actively studying towards full qualification
  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines
