Sheridan Maine are working exclusively with our client a rapidly growing international manufacturing company based in Poole, to secure a newly created Financial Accountant to join the business.  This is a very exciting time to join the business, which is complex for its size. 

Reporting into the CFO, as Financial Accountant you will assist with the preparation, development, and analysis of financial information to allow the business to make well-informed decisions, ensuring future stability, profitability, and growth. The Financial Accountant will help establish and maintain financial policies and management information systems. The role combines accounting skills with effective management and concise communication to both financial and non-financial management.
 
The Financial Accountant’s role is to look ahead, analysing business performance, advising on how to pre-empt problems and adapt to changing circumstances and developments. The overall aim for the Financial Accountant is to improve value in all areas by managing and reducing operational and production costs and implementing the most effective financial control processes.
 
Financial Accountant role, duties and responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly financial statements including consolidated profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, monthly management accounts, variance analysis and commentaries.
  • Assist in the production of the annual budget and periodic forecasting.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc management reporting and analysis for decision-making.
  • Provide a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions.
  • Ongoing review of cash coverage and production of forecasts.
  • Assist in the production of the annual statutory accounts.
  • Assist in the production of the VAT return and other Government returns.
  • Manage capital expenditure control.
  • Report on company assets and liabilities including balance sheet account reconciliations and review of tangible and intangible assets.
  • Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed.
  • Interpreting and communicating financial information to non-financial managers.
  • Financial governance – ensure that Void AR Ltd policies and procedures are current and are being adhered to.
  • Review and implementation of corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls.
Person Specification:
  • Newly qualified or Finalist ACCA, CIMA, ACA (will consider first move from Practice or coming from Industry) 
  • Experience in preparation and production of financial/management accounts for various types of businesses
  • Experience of working with overseas subsidiaries and group consolidation will be useful
  • Working within a manufacturing environment will be a distinct advantage
