Sheridan Maine are working with a growing Accountancy Practice based in Southampton. Due to ongoing success, there is an opening for a Semi Senior Accountant to join their close-knit friendly team. This Practice deals with a specialised type of clientele, servicing Doctors, Surgeons, and Consultants from the medical sector across the UK.

My client is looking for a capable AAT-qualified or part-qualified Accountant to come in and hit the floor running, ideally with 2-3 years of working in a busy accountancy practice. Full study support will be offered to enhance your qualifications and enrol you into ACCA.

You'll play a key role in providing exceptional accounting services to their clients. You will be Preparing financial statements, from trial balance stage and incomplete records, whilst building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing clients.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a full time in the office opportuniuty, when you are up and running the client will consider 1 day a home.

Responsibilities of the Semi Senior Accountant will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing a portfolio of client accounts
  • Preparing Personal Tax Returns
  • Preparing VAT Returns
  • General practice work
  • Liaising with clients and answering queries
 
The successful candidate will need the following attributes:
  • Previous experience working within an Accountancy Practice
  • AAT-qualified or part-qualified accountant looking at ACCA next
  • Team player and able to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines
  • English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent), at Grade A-C, and be educated to ‘A’ level standard
  • Good eye for detail
  • High level of IT Literacy (Intermediate Excel level)
