About The Business
Our client is a heavily-backed technology business which manufactures a unique product for multiple industry sectors, with a focus on quantifying and reducing the environmental footprints for both national and international organisations.
With R&D, testing and early stage fundraising fulfilled, and their second round of funding successfully complete, our client is officially transitioning into the revenue generating chapter of its journey this quarter, posing new and exciting challenges for all those involved at the business.
With operational processes across the SW, the CFO is now undertaking the search for the 2ic here in Bristol. This is a hybrid working arrangement with time on site 3 days per week.
About the Role
A true second in command position, the Financial Controller (FC) will cover a broad remit in a truly scalable environment.
Working very closely with the CFO and a team of experts across the business, the FC will develop and own a highly effective finance function across financial and management reporting, processes and systems, cash management, budgeting and overseeing the statutory reporting of the business.
An external resource will turn the screw for the transactional responsibilities and in time you will be responsible for building and developing the team.
Commercially, you will shadow the CFO in all aspects of financial decision making - you'll be there when it comes to funding, investor relations and financial modelling/due diligence activities.
About You
We're looking for someone who would be thrilled to be a part of an incomparable start up in Bristol, happy to get stuck into the nuts and bolts of business finance while overseeing its imminent growth.
There's a strong preference for this candidate to be fully qualified, as well as having experience within a smaller business environment (but really it’s down to you - the person - and your existing experiences that matter). Sector experience in Manufacturing / Technology / Engineering is again highly desirable but not a deal breaker without.
