Fund Accountant – up to £40,000 per annum
 
Sheridan Maine are working with a well-established, growing investment company based in Chichester, West Sussex. Due to ongoing success, there is an opening for a Fund Accountant to join them.
 
This is a remote opportunity, where you will only need to come to the office once per month and your expenses with be paid.  
 
The successful candidate will be overseeing the net asset values (NAV) of the UK-regulated funds and all production processes. The role also extends to assisting with financial statement reviews and the production of client reporting for funds. You will be participating in the monthly oversight committee meetings and escalate issues where required. At times, you will be required to participate in fund projects such as mergers, take-ons, and closures.

The candidate for this position will be AAT qualified or part-qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, etc.) and actively studying to qualify. Our client will consider 100% financial study support, relevant to the role. The ideal candidate will have UK-regulated funds experience and knowledge of NAV production or accounts preparation/review in accordance with the IA SORP.

Responsibilities of the Fund Accountant will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the net asset values (NAV) of the UK-regulated funds and all production processes
  • Assisting with financial statement reviews and the production of client reporting for funds
  • Participating in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Liaising with external auditors as and when required
  • Monthly oversight committee meetings and escalate issues where required
  • Ensure that accurate and timely reporting from Fund Accounting is provided to both internal and external recipients

The successful candidate will need the following attributes:
  • Previous experience working within financial services is desirable
  • AAT-qualified or part-qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, etc.)
  • Team player and able to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines
  • English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent), at Grade A-C, and be educated to ‘A’ level standard
  • Good eye for detail
  • High level of IT Literacy (Intermediate Excel level)
