Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering an established business based in Wolverhampton to recruit an Assistant Financial Accountant.  This is an exciting opportunity for a part qualified Accountant (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) to join a fast-paced business and work an interesting role within a high performing team.
 
Our client is seeking a talented individual who is keen to learn and develop on their skills.  This position would also suit someone who enjoys being hands on with process improvements and project work.
 
Responsibilities of the Assistant Financial Accountant will include but not limited to:

• Processing of accounting journals, ensure all transactions are posted into the Group's accounting system (Sun) with speed and accuracy
• Performing monthly reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts
• Assisting with the preparation of the monthly control pack and quarterly SOX Lite reviews
• Assisting with the quarterly VAT returns
• Performing month end reconciliations
• Assisting with the annual and interim external audits

• Knowledge of general ledger accounting systems
• Knowledge of core accounting principles, with IFRS and UK GAAP knowledge an advantage
• Excellent organisational skills
