Do you have experience in weekly board reporting and preparing reports?  Are you responsible for processing weekly payments – direct debits, collections, amendments etc?  Have you raised weekly invoices, credit notes and month end journals?  If so, we’d love to hear from you.
 
Sheridan Maine is working with one of the largest lottery businesses in the UK to recruit a Financial Accountant/ Reporting Analyst.  This is a fixed term contract of 12 months, and the business requires someone available to join by mid-April, so candidates must be immediately available or on a months’ notice.
 
Based in central London, by London Bridge station, this role will be 5 days in the office, with 1 day remote after probationary period is completed successfully.
 
Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant will include but not limited to:

  • Weekly Board Reporting of lottery games sales, including analysing trends against previous week and year
  • Preparation of the weekly lottery Trust Reports
  • Preparation of prize reimbursement reports
  • Key contact for Operations, including Investigating customer transactions and queries regarding prize payments, withdrawals and deposits
  • Processing direct debits, including collections, instructions, deletions, and amendments
  • Preparing transfer letter of weekly payments to be made and calculating funding requirements
  • Preparation of compliance and regulatory returns information
  • Calculating and processing of unclaimed prizes from CICs
  • Raising weekly invoices, credit notes, month end journals and general accounting
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all key accounts, including bank
  • Ad-hoc sales/performance analysis
  • Ad-hoc project work across finance function
  • Key contact for external lottery Finance Director (for Community interest Companies – CICs)
  • Key contact for CIC’s audit (THL side) and THL audit, including preparation of supporting reconciliations for audit
 
This is an interesting and varied role which requires a hands-on individual who enjoys working as part of a team, and ‘mucking in’ to help others whenever required.
 
You will require the following skills and experience:
  • Over 3 years’ experience in an accounting role
  • Self-starter and self-motivated, with an ability to work unsupervised
  • Has the ability to review, analyse and challenge the numbers
  • Good communication skills
 
**Salary up to £50,000 with a £5k completion bonus.**
