Sheridan Maine are working in partnership with a fast paced and driven manufacturing organisation based in Poole who are seeking to recruit in a new Finance Manager to lead the finance team and working closely with stakeholders in acheiving the overall business objectives. 

As Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include leading the end-to-end financial operations, financial planning, and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, consistently seeking ways to make improvements to processes, procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in production of the Company Accounts to UK GAAP within given timescales as well as management information reporting
  • Preparation of the Statutory Accounts and tax working papers
  • Supporting audit processes and liaising with internal/external audit teams as required
  • Leading the team responsible for payroll, VAT and HMRC processes
  • Support in production of management information, budgets, revisions and forecasts in line with the Financial Controller or Group requirements
  • Ensure the management accounts process including relevant schedules are properly monitored and controlled including validation and authorisation of monthly payroll and Accounts Payable payment runs
  • Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts
  • Ensuring all financial issues and controls are dealt with effectively and all Statutory and Tax obligations are adhered to within the timeframe required
  • Supporting the annual calculation of Corporation Tax and R&D Claims etc. including the calculation of relevant allowances such as R&D claims and Patent box claims etc.

Personal Attributes:
  • CIMA/ACA/ACCA Qualified or equivalent, we will also consider Qualified by Experience candidates with strong experience gained in a similar role
  • Ideally, we are seeking someone with commercial and business awareness, that has strong attention to detail, and an investigative nature
  • Problme solver by nature, with sound technical accounting skills 
  • Financial experience of multi-company and multi-currency consolidations
  • Experience within an engineering and manufacturing environment, and someone who can demonstrate excellent business acumen
