Sheridan Maine are working in partnership with a leading Global organisation to secure an immediately available Financial Controller to join the business on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. This role will manage a finance team across multiple sites and will be a challenging role which requires commitment and flexibility.

As Financial Controller you will lead the finance teams across the UK sites working with the Senior Leadership Teams in achieving the overall business objective of profit growth. You will be a Qualified Accountant who is technically astute, takes a proactive and hands on approach, with excellent leadership skills and the ability to cope in a demanding role while adding real value.

Key areas of responsibility:         

  • Leading the finance teams, while delivering overall business objectives and driving growth and profitability
  • Deliver accurate and timely management information to the UK General Manager and Group MD, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, corporate requirements and fiscal legislation
  • Production of Company Accounts to US GAAP within the group reporting timetable
  • Ensuring all financial issues and controls are dealt with effectively and all Statutory and Tax obligations are adhered to within the set time-frames
  • Production of budgets, revisions and forecasts
  • Oversight and backup for the management accounting process
  • Process review and improvements to ensure effective communication across divisions
  • Deliver new concepts and methods of analysing and reporting data to reduce process duplication and automate manual tasks, so as to operate in a lean and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for all source financial information results and preparation of the Statutory Accounts
  • Manage the Foreign Exchange requirements of the business in compliance with the Group Treasury Policy
  • Manage compliance requirement for Corporate Tax, VAT and payroll related taxes
  • Responsibility for the results of internal and external financial audits
 Personal Skills and Qualities:
  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified Accountant
  • Available to commence a new role ASAP
  • Experience working within the Engineering or Manufacturing sectors
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, able to drive the team forward
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Self driven and motivated with ability to thrive and work under pressure
  • Enthusiastic and adaptable approach with a strong team work attitude
  • Proactive and innovative business acmen with a working knowledge of financial and management accounts
