Sheridan Maine are delighted to be working with an excellent financial services organisation based in the Stoke-on-Trent area. They are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance function.
The Role: The duties for this position include (but are not limited to):
Purchase Ledger Administration:
Completion of daily interfacing routine and control account reconciliation, including standing order and branch & agency reconciliations.
Processing CHAPS, BACS & Faster Payments as required and posting of manual payments to the cash book
Assist the Management Accountant in the production of month end accounts, including accruals, prepayments & balance sheet reconciliations
Completion of daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare and submit statutory regulatory returns to external governing bodies
Treasury and cashflow monitoring
The Person: The successful candidate will be someone who is lively and inquisitive in their communication style, happy to ask questions and get involved in the process aspect. Other requirements include:
2+ years of experience in a similar finance and accountancy role
Intermediate excel skills e.g., VLOOKUPS, SUMIFs, pivot tables (these will be tested in the interview process)
A strong understanding of double entry accounting and debits and credits
Willingness to learn and develop further
Strong communicator
