Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with an established business based in central Bristol to recruit a Finance Manager.  The company offers a fun and inclusive work environment and would suit a candidate who is in the process of completing their finance qualifications (ACCA/CIMA). 
 
Responsibilities of the Finance Manager will include but not limited to:

  • Prepare and coordinate others in the production of monthly management accounts pack to agreed timetable
  • Review accruals and prepayments
  • Update Fixed Asset schedules and calculate monthly depreciation journals
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled
  • Responsible for SAGE system and its development. To include setting up new users, projects, reports etc
  • Preparation of a range of reports
  • Calculation and posting of journals
  • Perform a range of reconciliations
  • Preparation of Tax returns
  • Ensure forecasts are up to date and accurate ahead of the month end reporting process
  • Work with others to embed new processes
  • Liaise with credit control to ensure that customers are invoiced correctly and pay promptly
  • Prepare and submit monthly gift aid claims
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets for the annual business plan update
  • Assist with the preparation of annual audit
  • Provide guidance and support to all staff, ensuring Finance policies and procedures are followed
  • Attending regular Finance meetings and attend and contribute to other organisation meetings as required
  • Provide support to Head of Finance as required
 
The successful Finance Manager will require the following skills and experience:
  • At least 3 years’ experience of working in a finance capacity within a busy office environment
  • Excellent IT skills including strong Finance Systems skills
  • Good understanding of effective finance processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
