Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with an established business based in central Bristol to recruit a Finance Manager. The company offers a fun and inclusive work environment and would suit a candidate who is in the process of completing their finance qualifications (ACCA/CIMA).
Responsibilities of the Finance Manager will include but not limited to:
Prepare and coordinate others in the production of monthly management accounts pack to agreed timetable
Review accruals and prepayments
Update Fixed Asset schedules and calculate monthly depreciation journals
Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled
Responsible for SAGE system and its development. To include setting up new users, projects, reports etc
Preparation of a range of reports
Calculation and posting of journals
Perform a range of reconciliations
Preparation of Tax returns
Ensure forecasts are up to date and accurate ahead of the month end reporting process
Work with others to embed new processes
Liaise with credit control to ensure that customers are invoiced correctly and pay promptly
Prepare and submit monthly gift aid claims
Assist with the preparation of budgets for the annual business plan update
Assist with the preparation of annual audit
Provide guidance and support to all staff, ensuring Finance policies and procedures are followed
Attending regular Finance meetings and attend and contribute to other organisation meetings as required
Provide support to Head of Finance as required
The successful Finance Manager will require the following skills and experience:
At least 3 years’ experience of working in a finance capacity within a busy office environment
Excellent IT skills including strong Finance Systems skills
Good understanding of effective finance processes
Excellent communication skills
Strong leadership qualities
