Sheridan Maine are delighted to be working with a market-leading company, well-known for being a regular in the Times’ ‘Best Companies to Work For’. They are recruiting for a brand-new Tax Trainee to join their internal central finance department to provide support and advice to the wider commercial business. The position has arisen due to a strategic focus on building a dynamic tax department for the future.

Responsibilities of the Tax Trainee include but are not limited to:

  • Admin - Assisting with the design of company policies
  • Employment Tax / PAYE / CIS
  • Prepare monthly PAYE schedule in time to meet monthly payment requirements
  • Reconcile PAYE monthly with ledger control accounts
  • Checking CIS returns prior to submitting to HMRC
  • Assist with preparation & completion of Forms P11D / PSA
  • VAT - Assist with preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Assist with other Ad Hoc projects
  • Corporation Tax

The successful Tax Trainee:
The ideal candidate is a College/University leaver with a keen interest in Accounts and Finance looking to pursue a career in Taxation.  Skills and experience should include:
  • Broad interest in IT would be beneficial
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable time management skills
  • An appetite for learning and personal development
  • Attention to detail
