We’re delighted to partner an established business based in central London who have an exciting opportunity for a Capex & Projects Accountant.  This organisation operates a hybrid working policy and provides a positive and sociable team working culture.
 
Responsibilities of the Capex & Project Accountant will include but not limited to:

  • Own the annual capex and projects budgeting process as well as monthly and quarterly forecasts and planning
  • Identify and provide training in financial and modelling practises in the business involved in projects
  • Review and quality control the project plan, staffing and direct cost structure used to drive projects and capex budgets and forecasts
  • Finance Business Partnering to the projects community
  • Provision of a range of reporting and analysis
  • Support and hold Project Managers to account for actual vs planned performance, activities, and costs
  • Participate in monthly project review meetings
  • Pull together the costing and pricing information for investment business cases and revisions ready for review and discussion prior to Investment Board
  • Build relationships with Project Managers and other key projects resource
  • Preparation and posting of project-related journals including accruals, corrections and reconciliation on projects and project capex related GL accounts
  • Help develop and improve continually evolving project reporting
  • Weekly review and analysis of timesheet data and cost with PMO to drive understanding of variances against plans and to inform the assumptions used for budgeting and forecasting purposes
 
The successful Capex & Project Accountant will require the following skills and experience:
  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Good understanding of project management
  • Data- and insights-based projects experience
  • Confident liaising with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Good Excel and modelling skills (VLOOKUP’s, filters, etc)
