Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established institution who have an opportunity for a Finance Administrator to join them on a 7-month contract.  The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced team and will be responsible for the sales ledger processes, working with and through a team of dedicated staff. 
 
Responsibilities of the Finance Administrator will include:

  • To process sales invoice data through the Sales Ledger
  • To maintain Sales Ledger accounts and generally monitor all aspects to ensure ledger records remain accurate and up to date
  • To monitor the debtor balances, oversee the credit control process and chasing outstanding debts in a timely manner wherever relevant
  • To deal with telephone queries and resolve any issues promptly
  • To process cash and card transactions, undertake periodic cash and assigned bank reconciliations in accordance with agreed procedures, investigate any unreconciled items
  • To run transaction reports and complete payment reconciliation statements for authorisation
  • To process nominal ledger journals
  • To complete all month end and annual tasks assigned
  • To facilitate the reporting and analysis of the organisation’s financial position (including but not limited to identifying and resolving potential errors, accurately processing VAT, monitoring and maintaining Sales Ledger accounts, clarifying incoming messages/paperwork etc)
  • To take ownership of Sales Ledger processes and procedures, troubleshooting as necessary, ensuring all remain fit for purpose and striving to achieve continuous improvement
  • To provide finance support to the Finance Team and other departments as required
  • To monitor customer feedback received and action as appropriate
 
The successful Finance Administrator will require the following skills and experience:
  • AAT Qualified Accountant
  • Previous experience working in a finance function
  • Strong communication and stakeholder liaison skills
  • Good understanding of VAT rules and principles
  • Able to solve problems and develop solutions
