Sheridan Maine are working in partnership with a highly successful organisation based on the South Coast, on the M27 corridor between Southampton and Portsmouth, to recruit a specialist Financial Accountant opportunity dealing with a variety of accounting and reporting requirements for corporate clients.
Reporting to the Finance Manager the job responsibilities will include accounting for a range of complex funds and liaising with clients as required to discuss any variances. This will include higher level reconciliations of accounting transactions, and assisting to prepare investor reports and statutory statements. You will also deal with the completion of routine audit queries. You will also have the opportunity to mentor more junior staff members with a view to developing your management skills.
The successful candidate is likely to be nearly, or potentially, recently qualified (ACA, ACCA), from within an audit/practice firm seeking a move into industry. Experience of preparing client accounts within a mid-tier or smaller firm would also be highly relevant for the position. Previous exposure to preparing statutory financial statements and of reviewing statutory accounts would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite for the role.
