Sheridan Maine is currently working in collaboration with a leading organisation based across the South Coast, who are seeking a technically strong Financial Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to play an integral part in a dynamic and progressive organisation.
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of external regulatory reporting for the Group including the following key areas:
• Preparation of the statutory accounts for the Group and the Group’s subsidiary companies
• Assisting with the preparation of the groups consolidated accounts, for both management and statutory accounts
• Supporting the wider business with any technical accounting issues
• Assist with the modelling of new business opportunities
• Responsible for coordination and delivery of regulatory financial reporting, including the quarterly returns and submission of statutory accounts
• Responsible for assisting the preparation of all the group’s entity and preparation of the consolidated VAT returns, including submission, payments and handling queries
• Be the key contact for VAT with HMRC and external consultants
• Manage external reporting task as required
• Coordinate the monthly journal review process across all finance divisions
• Working closely with the group finance team to ensure continuous improvement across finance and assist with any process improvement implementations
Key skills and attributes required of the Financial Accountant include:
• The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
• At least 3 years post qualified management accounts and/or financial accounts experience
• A sound working knowledge of consolidation accounting is essential along with strong technical experience
• Other desirable areas of expertise include FRS102, fixed asset accounting and joint ventures
