Our client is a highly successful Manufacturing SME located in Avonmouth, supplying some of the UK's largest organisations with a high-quality service and goods. 
Established for over 50 years and still under private ownership, this business is a close knit and all-in culture with a fantastic company history to boast.

The Financial Controller plays the role of #1 Finance, reporting directly to the CEO and having a close relationship with other colleagues of the SMT.  Managing a small team of 2 and taking full ownership of finance across the business, both reporting and operationally, the Financial Controller's duties and responsibilities will include some of the following:

  • Proactively oversee and report on cashflow, including commenting on variances to short-term cashflow forecast and future projections against forecast and budget
  • Ensure checks and balances in place to monitor and report on cashflow in relation to revenue, profit, capital expenditure and working capital movements
  • Lead contact point with external advisors and stakeholders (Auditors, Tax Advisors, Bank, Insurance Brokers, Legal and Company Secretarial)
  • Oversee and drive systems improvements and implementations
  • Support Board in day-to-day issues and growth plans
  • Report Margin variations to Management Team in weekly/monthly formats
  • Presenting Monthly MI and weekly KPI’s as required
  • Lead the annual budget process, to be completed by end of November each year
  • Control Capital Expenditure to budget and forecasts
  • Ensure all relevant issues re international orders and presence are covered including appropriate FX approach. Recommend, implement and continually review company FX policy (business owns a subsidiary in the US)
The successful Financial Controller:
Our client is seeking a high performing candidate - whether QBE or fully qualified - to join the business with an enthusiastic and confident outlook to their work.
Capable of challenging business information and interrogating existing reports and financial models, the successful applicant will have strong stakeholder management qualities, capable of influencing from top to bottom.  Manufacturing experience is a must given the direct exposure to the business at a granular level, as well as a background in people management.
