Sheridan Maine are working exclusively with a dynamic small but growing management consultancy firm who operate across the UK and Ireland.  Who are looking to recruit in remote working and part-time (3 days per week) Head of Finance who will play an integral part in supporting the business in achieving their growth plans and will be the sounding board and advisor to the CEO and Client Services Director on how the business can grow.

As the Head of Finance, you will take full ownership of the finance function and the role requires a commercial, hands-on individual to perform accounting and reporting functions.  The role will involve occasional travel within the UK or Ireland.
You will ideally have experience in the professional services sector and be excited to work and play a key role within a start-up environment.  As the only finance person in the company, you will be comfortable handling all other aspects of the business including accounts receivable and payable as we as be a strategic partner to the CEO.  The role will require the individual to assist with as hoc HR and IT-related queries and be the main point of contact between the company and the external advisors.

  • Lead on all elements of Financial Control for the business
  • Production and management of accurate year-end and management accounts FRS102/105
  • Manage the monthly financial and cash flow forecasting
  • Provide scenario and financial planning support to the CEO
  • Provision of financial information, insight, and analysis
  • Statutory compliance with regards to annual returns, share activity and Insurances
  • Provide general support and input into legal matters, client tenders and contracts
  • Manage HMRC & Irish Revenue Compliance on payroll, PAYE/NIC, P11D, PSA, VAT
  • Manage payments and banking relationships
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least five years of commercial experience in providing strategic support to leadership
  • Management and statutory accounts experience, familiar with IR35
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, especially MS Excel, is essential
  • Strong research skills
  • Professional services sector experience in a small to medium-sized organisation
