Sheridan Maine is working with our Bristol based client to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant.  The successful Accounts Assistant will be supporting the Finance Director and Assistant Accountant in delivering control account reconciliations and provision of management and statutory information.
 
This temporary position is part time (08:30 – 17:00 Wednesday to Friday) and covers a maternity leave until December.
 
Duties of the Accounts Assistant will include:

  • Accurate accounting of weekly payroll, including labour analysis
  • Daily till and petty cash reconciliations. Investigating discrepancies and posting appropriate journals
  • Managing expense and mileage returns
  • Reconciling various payroll accounts
  • Maintaining fixed asset register, processing additions, disposals and monthly depreciation
  • Other opportunities to gain experience within the general ledger department
 
To be considered for this role, the candidate must have a good understanding of accounting techniques and definitions, and the ability to analyse data, making judgements and decisions to ensure accurate accounting action.  Experience of SAGE payroll will be advantageous.
