An excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to join an international business, based in the Greater Southampton area, on a permanent basis in a Business Support Accounting role.

• Working as part of the Financial Control team, with a group finance focus, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy of actuals for financial reporting specifically orientated around the Group Investment and IT Projects programmes with a combined revenue of c£60m per annum.
• Other key tasks will include both P&L and balance sheet responsibility to ensure the integrity of the numbers through checking PO’s are allocated correctly, accruals and prepayments, monthly journal creation and general accounting reconciliations.
• The job holder will liaise extensively with other finance teams business managers and the Finance SSC to ensure discrepancies are resolved and that material variances to budgets and forecasts are investigated.

The successful candidate is likely to have studied for accounting qualifications e.g. AAT Qualified, Part Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or potentially Qualified by Experience. Ideally you will possess extensive relevant accounting experience, as detailed above, gained by working within medium/large commercial organisation. The role required someone with a high level of accuracy, able to work to month end deadlines and who enjoys communicating with finance and non-finance managers.
