An excellent opportunity to join a leading organisation based in the Greater Southampton area as a Project Support Accountant working as a key part of a small finance projects team. Reporting to the Senior Finance Projects Manager this is a broadly focussed role working across various departments within the organisation to provide project support to a variety of innovations and improvement programmes.
The core focus will on the delivery of the Finance Change Programme designed to optimise the performance across the finance and accounting function. This will include assisting in prioritising project deliverables, reviewing systems and processes to recommend and deliver improvements, developing new financial tools and liaison with other departments to ensure a coherent approach to delivering the change agenda.
Ideally you will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience however if you possess relevant project accounting experience and are not yet fully qualified, or are Qualified by Experience, then your application is still welcomed. The successful incumbent will need to be organised and possess demonstrable numeracy as well as being a problem solver. You will also need to have excellent IT skills including Excel and other potential analytical software packages to interpret complex financial and statistical data.
The position will be highly visible with direct interaction with senior finance stakeholders, as well as managers and directors in other functions, and there are likely to be excellent career progression opportunities in the organisation over time for a successfully performing individual.
