Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a leading multinational Utilities and Energy business who are perfectly positioned in the current market place.

They are currently looking for an enthusiastic, qualified direct tax professional to support the Senior Tax Manager in their large in-house tax team. The group tax team plays a pivotal role in supporting the business and helping them to navigate the complex and continually changing demands of tax legislation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of corporation tax returns for a large group of companies in the UK and Ireland.
  • Preparation of tax notes for statutory accounts purposes, along with IFRS reporting to the French parent throughout the year
  • Assisting with calculating and processing UK and Irish CT payments
  • Liaison with HMRC on any and all direct tax matters
  • Assistance with analysis and ad-hoc project work including M&A/due diligence, tax modelling for project appraisals, cross-border BEPS issues and CAs / R&D claims
  • Provide day to day tax advice for the business units and Group, using professional advisors when required
  • Provide support, guidance and training to junior members of the team.

What you will need to be great for this role:
  • Qualified CTA or ACA (or equivalent) and have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience from within UK practice or industry
  • Irish corporation tax experience is useful, but not a prerequisite for the role
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organisation including non-financial management
  • Highly competitive salary depending on experience
  • The role is based in Central London, but travel between offices will be expected
  • Up to two days working from home will be available
