Our client, a World leading design and manufacturing organisation, have an immediate and urgent requirement for an experienced Project Accountant to be based at their facilities in West Dorset. This is a highly visible, business interactive role supporting a range of programmes.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, but with a functional responsibility to the Head of Programmes, this is a key position within the organisation to provide clear and salient information to the business on the performance of a range of projects focused across 3 functions: Engineering & Design, Maintenance and Manufacturing. This will include acquiring a comprehensive understanding of milestones, costs and cost drivers, labour, margins and performance versus forecasts. There will be extensive liaison onsite with project managers as well as providing management information to support the bids and proposals team.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) although a studier or potentially someone who is Qualified by Experience with the requisite project accounting experience would be considered. You will need to be a self-starter with the ability to manage your work load autonomously and also able to communicate at all levels of an organisation to influence stakeholders. Previous experience of long term contract or project accounting are really essential for the role in order for the individual to hit the ground running.
This is an immediate opportunity initially for approx 2-3 months although there is potential for it to become temporary to permanent for right individual.
