Job Details

Sheridan Maine are seeking a Qualified and technically strong Financial/Statutory Accountant to join a leading Group of companies based near Christchurch. This key role will be reporting into the Finance Director and working closely with the finance team.

Key areas of responsibility: 

  • Preparation of the statutory accounts for the group in accordance with IFRS
  • Preparation of the statutory accounts for all subsidiaries in compliance with current UK GAAP
  • Fund accounting for Trusts and preparation of Trust accounts
  • Accounting for Investment management
  • Balance Sheet preparation and review
  • Preparation of corporate and personal tax computations
  • Review of accounting at an entity level on a monthly basis
  • Accounts preparation ownership and consideration of impact of new accounting standards
  • Drafting of reports and board memos for the Group
  • Undertake other adhoc tasks and financial project work at the direction of the Chief Financial Officer and Group Finance Manager
  • Always fully comply with policies and procedures
Education and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years post ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified or QBE
  • Experience in preparation and production of financial accounts for various types of entities including limited companies, partnerships, charities, sole traders and trust
  • Experience of preparation of company and personal tax returns, not essential but desirable
  • Detailed knowledge of finance systems 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Good understanding of Management Accounts, Funds and Sub-ledgers

  • Occasional travel to other sites may be necessary and a clean UK driving licence is required
